Part 1: Beware the Bloodstorm |
|
Aamon Khul is an ancient city lying somewhere in the uncharted
areas of the Blasted Lands. It's relative obscurity and remoteness
ensures that no casual traveller, no seasoned adventurer, no
merchant train from the Central Kingdoms has ever happened
upon it. Yet to frequent travellers of the Blasted Lands it
is known as the City of Blessed Rain, a sacred oasis that marks
man's furthest known westward expansion. Here woshippers of
of the rain and sky congregate to pay homage to their gods,
their very prayers summoning the life-giving rain. Only in this
way could Aamon Khul survive these millenia in the harsh realm
that is the Blasted Lands.
But now the city is in trouble. During the last summoning something
went terribly wrong. Now a massive crimson cloud fills the sky,
bringing with it a magical electrical storm of unknown power.
Worse yet, the storm seems to have transformed a once-docile
herd of hydras into a rampaging army that seems bent on destroying
Aamon Khul with strange magical powers. Powers that they did
not have before! Panicked and near dehydration the people of
Aamon Khul dare not summon the rain for fear they will summon
their own doom. And so, you have come to Aamon Khul.
You bite your lip as you look down upon the advancing army
of hydras below. You've taken on your share of enemies in the
past but somehow this seems...different. You shake such unworthy
thoughts from your head and gather your resolve. This adventure
will turn out like the others. You will simply succeed because
you must. Because you always have. That settled you begin to
prepare yourself for battle when your eyes are drawn once more
to the crimson sky. Your worst fears are realized as you notice
the evil cloud moving forward towards the city. It appears that
the monstrous hydras below will not be your only enemies on
the battlefield this day. You will have to keep your eyes on
the sky above and constantly Beware the Bloodstorm.
